Greenway Management

Four agencies are involved in the management of the Greenway:
  • City of Grand Forks
  • Grand Forks Park District
  • City of East Grand Forks
  • Minnesota Department of Natural Resources

The City of Grand Forks owns the land on the Grand Forks, ND side of the Greenway. The Grand Forks Park District manages four of these areas, consisting of the larger recreational areas in the project: Riverside, Kannowski and Lincoln Drive Park, and Lincoln Drive Golf Course in partnership with the City.

The City of East Grand Forks owns and manages most of the 1,200 acres of Greenway on the Minnesota side. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources owns and operates the Red River State Recreation Area, located in the downtown East Grand Forks.
